College is a great place for students to gain knowledge but most importantly athletes play the game love and have so much passion for it, while the people behind the scenes are filling their pockets with greed. These athletes sweat day and night to be the best as whole an individually, to be on top and what every other athlete wants a chance to win a National Championship. In the student’s eyes they see a championship. The mind of a business person all they see is a money making opportunity. Paying college athletes would solve the issue along down the road when they become a pro and sign for a five year fifty million dollar contract that somebody will not come knocking on their door because they were making under the table money in college. …show more content…

College athletes are basically a star, a young pro just not getting the compensation for it. Here is why? This source says that “Some people think that if the players can bargain over their working conditions, they will want to be paid, just as professional athletes are. Another source said “Athletes earn their schools hundreds of thousands of dollars, increase enrollment, and if they do well, provide a recruiting piece for generations. Top NCAA executives are getting $1 million per year while an athlete can't earn $50 from signing a few autographs.”(Harnett, 2013). As an athlete playing for the number one school in the nation could be tough especially if you the star of the team. All of the responsibilities that have to be managed and of them are receiving money. If someone is paying student money under the table, looks like they care or the school is making tons money off the star athlete.
