College athletes are treated with a full scholarship to go to school to play the sport they love. Along with this, they are they are treated with the luxury of top of the line facilities and coaching, giving them the opportunity to become a better athlete, player, teammate, and the chance to play a professional sport. Colleges make millions of dollars every year from their sports programs. Are the schools being greedy, or is a full scholarship the fair share of the money a college athlete deserves? Over 90% of student athletes go to college to get a degree. Not to play professional sports. They know that the last college game they play may be the last time they play that sport competitively again. Keeping the rules of not allowing student athlete compensation the NCAA has now will make sure that students will finish their degree and be successful in the future, and reduce the amount of athletes getting in trouble and having hard trials later in their lives. Giving athletes full scholarships give some players the opportunity to go to college when they wouldn’t of gone otherwise.
