Some killers and some killings are unknown today, but more and more cases are being solved with advanced technology and forensics. The Colorado Hammer Killer, the Killer in the Valley, and Alex Murdaugh are examples of killers.

The Colorado Hammer Killer is a killer who attacked ten people. Out of the ten people attacked, four of them died. On January 4, 1984 at 2:30 a.m, Kim and Jim Haubenschild were attacked by the Colorado Hammer Killer, but they survived. Patricia Smith was the next victim on January 10, 1984.
