Global Pet Foods is a store that sells a variety of pet products. Their website is www.globalpetfoods.com. In this report, you will learn the history of the company, some facts about Global Pet Foods, the products they sell, their competition, their foundation and the careers they offer. I selected Global Pet Foods because I used to have a dog and they were where my family got most of the supplies. Whenever we went they were always friendly and had lots of knowledge about what they were talking about.
History of the Company Global Pet Foods opened in 1976 and have been franchising from the start. In 1997, they became a member of CFA. They are the largest pet specialty retail in Canada and are 100% Canadian owned …show more content…

They are located in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec. They have 3 locations in London, one on Southdale, one on Commissioners, and one on Wellington. Each store is independently owned and operated by franchisees, who tend to be pet and animal lovers. The franchise fee is $30k and the required investment ranges from $325k to $383k.
Products and Competition The brands at Global Pet Foods often can’t be found at a grocery store, as they sell unique brands. The brands they sell include Caru, First Mate, Healthy Paws, Little Friend, Summit, and many more. They also sell pet supplies and accessories including collars, leashes, toys, shampoo, conditioner, dental products, and flea and tick supplements. They have Healthy Pet Care Specialists who help customers select the right product for their pet. Their competition in London is a Village Tail, Pet Paradise, and Your Pet Pantry Inc. Their competition across Canada is Pet Smart, and Pet Value.

I used their page on the CFA website to find some of the franchising information, like the fee. I was unable to find who founded the store anywhere. The author of this site is Global Pet foods. The website is not a personal page and the company isn’t an institution. I am unable to find when the website was created, but it was last updated in 2018. The URL tells me it is a company. The author’s sources are not documented. They have a few links, mainly to their blog and French website. The purpose of this site is to see what brands they carry, find a store near you and learn where and what job position are available. The information on the website answered most of my questions, other than who founded the company. The intended audience is pet owners. The site is error free and you can search by keyword, however it is only when looking for a store or when looking for a career
