Animal Farm by George Orwell is subtitled “A Fairy Tale”. In the beginning of the book this is how George Orwell describes Napoleon “Napoleon is a threatening and 'fierce looking' Berkshire boar” After the Rebellion the animals had to choose a leader it came down to the pigs since they were the smartest animals on the farm. But throughout the book some of the pigs find out that they can manipulate their peers by using their superior intellect. This overall leads to the total misuse of power by Napoleon.
Old Major is an allegory to Karl Marx, he uses his wisdom and intense word choice to grab the attention of all the animals in Manor Farm. He speaks of a farm with no one truly in charge, instead of every animal contributing to the farm for the greater good. At the beginning of Orwell's novel, the pig gathers every animal on the farm in hopes of persuading them of his plan. Old Major starts his speech by saying, “Now comrades, what is the nature of this life of ours?” (Orwell 6).

In Animal Farm by George Orwell, the author portrays the Russian Revolution through various animal's on a farm. In his story, Orwell portrays philosopher Karl Marx as a pig named Old Major. Old Major delivers a statement to the rest of the animals on the farm in which he blames humans for all of their problems and miserable lives. He believes that if they were to overthrow the humans, they would be free to live live simpler and happier lives. This causes the animals to start a rebellion against all human's, starting with the owner Mr. Jones.
In the book, a corrupt pig is able to presume control of a farm, by raising vicious dogs to kill anybody who is against him. After the animals revolt and are able to take control of the Manor farm, they continue to take care of the farm, but implement new rules on the farm, only for them to be broken later in the story. The story begins when Old Major, the oldest and wisest pig, gives a speech about in the near future, there will be a revolution against Mr. Jones and all the other humans and there will be a Republic of the Animals. After his speech, he teaches the animals the Beasts of England song. A couple nights later, when Old Major died, the animals began to plan their revolution. Then, after a few months of talking it over, the day finally came when they were underfed for days straight and Mr. Jones was drunk, that they couldn’t take it anymore, and revolted, which caused Mr. Jones and his men to flee. Then the animals celebrated, not believing their luck, and removed any marking of humans at the farm.
In Animal Farm, the philosophy opens the public to the truth of which our whole system, is based on fear itself. The fear of living in chaos and with no rights, lead the human race to make the “government”. The fear of not getting something in return, made equivalent exchange; money system. The fear of being “different” and “yourself”, created the figure of society.
