The us constitution and the Articles of Confederation are similar but different in many ways. The articles of confederation line out the basic ideas of government and written in the US Constitution are the expanded ideas that make the United States Unique. The Articles of confederation #7 states that all of the United States of America have to vote for the ratification of one thing. This was established to keep silly laws/acts to the Articles of Confederation from being amended but as more important amendments had to ratified it became nearly impossible to have all of the state representatives vote together for the ratification of one thing. Under the constitution congress has more power. Under amendment 8 it states that congress has specific powers along with the implied powers it was given.This gives congress more power to do the work that needs to be done to please the people of the United States. The First Amendment to the Articles of Confederation states that in the United States the individual states are sovereign. This amendment says that the right to rule over the government is given to the states and so the people are being controlled by what the states say that they must conform to. The first amendment to the constitution says that the right to govern over the country is given to the people of the nation as a whole. In comparing the US Constitution to the Articles of Confederation I have found that the two most important documents in the history of the United States are similar in many ways but I have also found that the two documents are rather different. While studying this topic i have learned why the Articles of Confederation were not kept as the sole source of which we the people are governed
