To compare and contrast two memorable moments in my life is a difficult challenge for me. I have decided to choose my trips to Disney World and Universal. While both of these magnificent, magical places are located 8.5 miles from each other they are fairly similar and enormously different. Disneyworld is located in Florida, more precisely Kissimmee, but since it’s a suburb of Orlando, most people just say it’s in Orlando.

The first way that the film and the novel differ is in the characterization of the various characters in the tale. The novel briefly describes each character while the film gives all the major characters dual roles: one for reality and one for Dorothy's fantasy. For example in the book dorothy has magic slippers but they are silver and in the movie for more a shock to the audience for color the producers make the slippers are ruby colored.
Comparison and Contrast Essay When deciding which Disney Park to attend many consider Disneyland and Walt Disney World to be immensely different due to their immense differences in size and offerings, they are also surprisingly similar in their prices and attractions. It is crucial for families to consider both the similarities and differences between the two parks and choose the one that best fits their needs. Both Disney Parks have extremely similar pricing and weather. Disneyland in Anaheim, California and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida benefit from mild winters and warm summers.
Due to the lack of things such as media, people’s concerns with aspects of pieces of work were not as known allowing the older works to have less influence by the outside world. This is also allowing for the reality and the brutal truth of how life really goes to show. Also in both stories, Cinderella still fits into the slipper and the step-sister are caught for trying to be Cinderella. However in the Disney’s Cinderella everyone lives happily ever after. In contrast, in Grimm’s Cinderella the step-sisters do not live happily ever after instead they are blinded by the birds pecking their eyes out. Another difference between the two stories is in Disney’s Cinderella the two step-sisters try to put their feet into the slipper, but it was obvious that they were both too big, then Cinderella tried it one and it fit just right. However in Grimm’s Cinderella the two step-sisters cut their heels and toes to fit into the slipper.
Rapunzel, Rapunzel Fairytales bring joy and hope to the reader. At least the fairytales society knows today. But what were the original versions like? Many stories have aspects that change over time, however the major plot stays roughly the same.
Mulan Disney Movie vs. The Legend of Mulan In China during the Northern Wei dynasty that lasted from 386A.D. to 534A.D. Hua Mulan lived but we all know about her story from the famous Disney movie “Mulan”. The Disney movie helps kids learn her story but is not the best source for the real facts. There are many differences between Mulan's’ legend and the “Mulan” Disney movie. The legend of Mulan tells us that Hua Mulan lived during the Northern Wei dynasty.
The movie “Ever After” by Andy Tennant, and The short story Cinderella by Perrault, are both very different takes on the story of Cinderella. Perrault’s version of the story is the story that most of us have grown up with. It’s captivating and magical, but also it’s very one-dimensional, with a “magic pumpkin” and a “fairy godmother”. While, Tennant’s version is by far more realistic in nature, there is no magic pumpkin, but there is a prince who becomes her husband, an evil stepmother, and a pretty, kind hearted girl who slaves away doing as her stepmother demands. The “fairy godmother” does not randomly appear from no where, in “Ever After”, instead she is replaced by the great inventor Leonardo Da Vinic.
“Always be a good girl, and I will look down from heaven and watch over you.” (Page 1) The Disney Cinderella was released on February 15th, 1950 but the tale told by The Grimm Brothers is a different twist on the Disney classic movie; instead of a fairy godmother and sweet, little mice running around, The Grimm Brothers wrote about a tree growing on Cinderellas mothers’ grave and with the help of tiny birds, every wish Cinderella makes comes true. The violent version of Cinderella by the Grimm Brother explains the struggle she faced trying to get away from her stepsisters but also keeping her humble and kind side looking for true love.
It is nearly impossible for a tale to be passed down generations and still stay the same. The fairy tale “Cinderella” told by the Grimm brothers is almost 206 years old, and differences can be seen between the modern “Cinderella” story and the original. In “Cinderella,” by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, a young girl named Cinderella is treated like a servant by her family. Luckily she is gifted with beautiful clothing, enabling her to attend a festival, meeting her one true love. Cinderella gets married to the prince, and the step-sisters are punished by getting pecked in the eyes by birds.
Disney vs. Grimm Fairytales (Rough Draft) Fairytales have majorly altered throughout history in a variety of disturbing ways. Grimm’s fairytales were known as gruesome parables that spoke of harsh realities and were told to people of all ages. Disney is identified by their hopeful and imaginary stories aimed at the audience of children. The reasoning behind this stark contrast of fairy tales is for numerous diverse explanations.
The classic Wizard of Oz movie was based on the novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" written by Lyman Frank Baum, and published in the year 1900. Children loved the book so much the wrote letters to Baum asking for sequels. He released 13 novel sequels, none of which I have read. The oldest surviving film version is a 1910 silent. Another silent version was made in 1925 with Larry Semon and Oliver Hardy.
Disney vs. Grimm Throughout time there has been an alteration of fairy tales. Grimm brothers original stories are much more graphic and violent than the fairy tales we think of today. Disney dispalies stories that are less graphic and fit for children, while still using the main idea and concept of the original Grimm brothers’ stories. The alteration of fairy tales is displayed throughout the stories from the Grimm brothers and the newer stories brought by Disney.
Disney has successfully given viewers of their movies warm and comforting feelings because there is always a happy ending. Disney productions have also taught young children the difference between good and evil. Films such as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” and “Cinderella” are two of their earlier movies that are vastly different, but share similarities as well. For instance, both Cinderella and Snow White are beautiful princesses that are forced to be maids and have similar antagonists in their stories, which are evil step mothers who are jealous of their step daughter 's beauty.
Grimm’s Cinderella is similar and different from Perrault’s Cinderella or (The Little Glass Slipper) because of the moral of kindness, themes, endings. The Grimm version of Cinderella can be compared to the Perrault version because the Grimm’s Cinderella has a darker theme than the Perrault’s version because it has gruesome details. Some gruesome parts in Grimm’s Cinderella is more towards the end of the Grimm fairy tale when the sisters cut off part of their feet. In Grimm’s version the shoe was too small for one the daughters so, “ the mother gave her a knife and said, "Cut the toe off; when thou art Queen thou wilt have no more need to go on foot. " When that did not work the other daughter tried on the shoe and her heel was too large.
