Compare and contrast between Hinduism and Christianity There’s much talking about religions and faith in the world today. Everywhere you look, every country you have been to, you will find people that are indifferent about God and faith, you will find people that are obsessed with anti-religion propaganda and you will find people that live their lives according to what they believe and what they proclaim. According to Wikipedia.org, religion is a system of human thought which usually includes a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices that give meaning to the practitioner’s experiences of life through reference to a higher power, deity or deities, or ultimate truth. This is mainly the basic definition of religion, which is also accepted by most religious leaders. I will compare and contrast between Christianity and Hinduism in this essay.
First of all, Christianity is a belief in Jesus Christ, who was crucified two thousand years ago on Calvary, Jerusalem, which is now spread all over the world. Hinduism is a religion that advocates tolerance. It teaches that all religions are different paths leading to one goal; all religions are different means to one end. Hinduism is not exclusive and accepts all religions as valid. Christianity, however, teaches that Christ is the only way to God. John 14:6 says, "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. '" Philosophically, it is impossible for religions with mutually exclusive doctrines to be equally valid. Where we find contradiction, we must find errors. Either Christ was wrong or He was right when He claimed to be the only path to God. It is simple arithmetic, not spiritual
