A BRIEF HISTORY OF ROMANCE, ARKANSAS During the fall of 1850, a six-wagon, wagon train from Kentucky came upon a little valley with a good size creek. Their leader, Ben Pruitt, thought it looked like a good place to camp for the winter, and they did. By the time spring arrived they had named their settlement Kentucky Valley and called the creek, Cliffy Creek because of the cliffs in the creek and along its sides. One of those cliffs creates a rather large waterfall just a few hundred yards from the downtown area.
West Virginia is a small eastern Rust Belt state founded in 1863, making it the 35th oldest state in the Union. Since its inception, the West Virginia state government has worked for its people to provide structure, safety, and order to its citizens. Comparing West Virginia to Florida highlights a striking difference between the two states, but with a similar result: a tradition of voting red despite most citizens being registered as Democrats. West Virginia’s state government is made up of three branches, the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch. Each branch plays a role in constructing and enforcing laws and maintaining the state government infrastructure.
When it come to picking a college it's going off based on what the student environment, learning type, and etc. I believe another essay that ties into Liz Addison Essay is “ Colleges Prepares People for Life” by Freeman Hrabowski. Freeman Hrabowski, president of University of Maryland, in his essay he argues “echoed an increasingly common refrain that college is expensive, that students are taking on unmanageable debt and that they too often graduate unprepared for the world of work” (259). According to both Addison and Hrabowski, college is expensive, but Addison believes that there are ways around paying a high cost of going to college. In addition, Hrabowski feels that even though colleges has ways around paying high cost that either way it goes it would be a bad investment, due to, a student dropping out, or not passing a class.
Maycomb, Alabama and Conover, North Carolina have many differences. First of all, Maycomb is a fictional town, while Conover is very real. Also, Conover is much bigger than Maycomb, according to the description in the book. Many of the people in Maycomb know each other personally because their families have lived their for a very long time. In Conover, people come and go all the time, sometimes moving thirty minutes down the road, sometimes moving across the country.

One of the differences between Georgia and California is their geography. Georgia is located in the southeastern region of the United States and California is located on the West Coast.

Both settlements arose from over-crowdedness in England: people wanted a better life. Virginia was settled by men who were single and looking for opportunities and wealth. What is it like to live in two different states? This is a question I have been asked many times. Having experienced both Alaska and Washington I can tell you there are plenty of similarities as well as some major differences. Both Alaska and Washington are great places to live but some major differences include natural beauty, weather, and travel choices. Living in Alaska will give you the opportunity to see the Northern Lights.
In the war of who should have more power state or federal? I firmly believe the federal government should have overall power. Now, why would I choose the federal government? Well think about this when slavery was going on the federal government put it to a stop. Even though some states didn’t want slavery to end the federal government made it mandatory for all states to stop slavery.
The three main colonies that we hear about are Virginia, Plymouth, and Massachusetts. These three colonies basically define all the others, as each group and its main founder either went for a personal financial gain or to escape religious persecution. Virginia was originally settled by Captain John Smith and grew into a successful trade colony through tobacco. Plymouth was originally founded by the Separatists and was lead by William Bradford. Eventually the dwindling Plymouth joined with Massachusetts which was originally Puritan based.
In a way this is some colleges cheating in ranking and on grades. Sometimes it’s not really about the grades, but the knowledge that students are able to bring with them and apply it to their future job. Colleges are supposed to prep students for the world ahead of them and help
United States public high schools recorded a four-year graduation rate of 82 percent for a past school year. That number does not mean a higher college rate, more like the complete opposite. The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center suggests college-enrollment rates have actually declined. The number of students enrolling in colleges and universities this year is 1.7% lower than last years. The percent was originally 69% and now dropped down to 66% and this calculation is just starting college not even the percentile of them finishing college (Wong).
As of 2015, 45% of students graduated college, while 31% did not, and another 12% are still enrolled. The remaining 12% transferred to other colleges. The United States is in 13th place when accounting for students graduating college. This is simply dismal and for a world power is unacceptable. Our public education system receives funding from multiple sources, but overall roughly $12,000 is allocated for each student each year.
When people want to choose the university, they should consider many factors, including the size of the institution. Although a lot of people prefer small universities, large universities are better for several reasons, including, academic life, social life and for career life.
