Mexico is an amazing country with many benefits to the global society contrary to what most movies and media portrays. It is known as a federal republic that is composed of 31 states and the Federal District (which is the administrative center). Mexico is in Southern North America and is the third largest country in Latin America. Mexico’s society is comprised of extremely wealthy to extremely impoverished, with a limited middle class. Despite the extremes in wealth distribution, Mexico is one of the chief economic and political forces in Latin America. The Mexican population rate as of 2023 has risen to 130,980,000. Which is contrary to the United States. The US does not require preschool, but does require high school (Laggren, 2017). Something that goes along side this is age requirements. In Mexico, students must remain in school until the age of 12 (Confessore, 2021) whereas students in the US are required to stay until they are 16 years of age (Findlaw, 2023). There are benefits to leaving school early as many students do in Mexico such as going to work to help their families with finances. The primary disruption of education in Mexico is poverty, while dropping out is where most US students fall short of completing their education (Confessore, 2021). The division of schooling is how many years students attend each of the following: elementary school, middle school, and high school. These numbers vary between the US and Mexico. In the United States the division is 5-3-4, while in Mexico it is 6-3-3 (Collins, 2022). By these numbers you can see where more importance is given to each school.
