The notion of teleology has been a subject of much debate in regards to contemporary biology concerns. Among these arguments, is whether or not design and/or teleology has a place in contemporary religious thought and if the thought process is possible of being sustained in the light of modern scientific developments. The following paper will discuss these arguments as well as the implications of Anthropic cosmology and Neo-Darwinism biology. Additionally, this paper will take and defend a position and answer counter-arguments. The concept of teleology is based on the idea that everything has a purpose or was intended for a purpose. This idea leads to a specific design, which instinctively guides many to make the connection that there is a designer. When a person sees massive structure, such as the Empire State building, its clear that the building was designed and didn’t just arise by chance. The complexity of the design implies that the building was built for a specific purpose or multiple purposes.
