Empires throughout history have all had their own methods to political control. Some very similar others could not be any more different. Some of the great empires such as the Han and the Roman had very similar approaches to political control. Although both the Han and the Roman empires had similar forms of government both bureaucracies, both empires had many individual characteristics as well.
Rome and the US are similar and different. But I disagree with what Zackary Hopper and Sianna Sullivan. Zack thinks that they are similar and Sianna thinks that they are both different but I think that Rome and the US is different and similar The citizens of Rome had elected their leaders just like the US.
Many Americans today many not be the most familiar with ancient Greek and Roman history but our founding fathers certainly were and in “their quest to match the deeds of the ancients the founders became our heros… [t]he founders drove the ancients from their pedestals and occupied their places” (ix). Carl J. Richard seeks to highlight the influence the ancients had on our founders. I believe that Richard is very effective in accomplishing his goal of demonstrating what lessons the founding fathers learned from the greeks and the romans as well as how those ideas shaped the foundations of the American government. He accomplished this through his use of clear and specific examples throughout greek and roman history and he showcases direct connections
As many new immigrants come to America the process of Naturalization becomes more and more relevant. On average about 1,000,000 immigrants come to America per year and have a chance to become citizens through this process. This is quite similar but also very different than how it was in ancient Rome but Rome had a better system than how it was in Athens. Before learning the some of the good things about their system let’s dig into the basics. Rome was a city-state located on the Italian Peninsula in the middle of the mediterranean and was considered the center of trade.
The Romans had a system of indirect democracy where the people had the power to vote for representatives who would advocate for them on the state level. The Greeks had a government in which the people directly were involved in the governmental and legislative process. In addition, both systems were flawed in their representation of their people in their respective governments through neglecting a large portion of their population. Both societies did well to create term lengths to decrease the likelihood of corruption and abuse of power through creating accountability. However, the Greek democracy was a caliber above its counterpart.
America needed a strong, binding and uniting foundation of government and that is what it got from drawing upon these ancient civilizations. The entire way that the American government works and thrives today is
The problem with spending grabbed my attention, I mentioned earlier about how to U.S. spends too much money on different areas in the system especially the military. Here is a great example of how another nation would spend money and which led to a collapse. Greek also spent a lot of money on the military by buying arms from other countries like the U.S. And Germany. I have the impression that Greek wanted to follow the lead of the U.S. economy, because the U.S. does the same thing with the spending budget. I believe Greek had the impression if they had a more powerful military, then would make Greek a powerful government.

Comparing and Contrasting the Roman Empire and Kingdom of God There were, and are, many kingdoms and empires in this world. Some of these kingdoms are quite similar, and some, are not even close to the same. The Roman Empire and the Kingdom of God, two very important kingdoms in our lifetime, both have several interesting similarities and differences.
A civilization’s architecture not only shows the artistic skills of its designers and builders but also the functionality of its engineers, the power of its government, and the inventiveness of its people. Architecture was a crucial element to the success of two major cites in Europe, Rome and Athens. Each city had structures consisting of formal architecture like temples and basilicas showing the influence that its leaders had over each city, while utilitarian buildings like bridges and aqueducts helped build communication between distant cities throughout each empire. Though architecture as a whole was an important role in unifying the cities, the architecture design within each illustrates the similarities and differences between two.
Ancient Civilizations of the ancient world have explained a lot of things in our present days, but what makes it so great is that it’s architecture. The ancient Greek and Ancient Roman are very rich and variable history and culture, but also they had similarities and differences The Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman civilizations had some differences although they are very close to each other. First, they had different social systems; the ancient Greek divided their social systems into five categories: slaves, freedmen, metics, citizens and women , and in the ancient Greek women were not given a position they were like to be less than slaves, but in the ancient Roman civilization they dived into four categories: freedmen, slaves, plebians and patricians, and women were considered citizen if they were not born into slavery, however they were not able to hold any position or vote. Second, The ancient Greek created and developed the three famous classical orders which is Doric, Ionic and Corinthian, On the other hand Ancient Roman took the classical order with making minor differences and created the arch and used it in their buildings.

Ancient Greek and ancient Rome are often confused with one another even though there are great differences between the two. Both countries are Mediterranean but have social class differences, different mythology, different life values and different architectural concepts. It is said that much of what Rome used in everyday life was taken from the ancient Greek civilization as the ancient Greek civilization started 5th century BC. And it was not till hundreds of years later that the roman civilization started. Cities in Ancient Greece were differentiated by hills.
The Greeks and Romans seem to be extremely influential on our modern civilization. Many Greek and Roman traditions and cultures play major roles in our civilization. These traditions and cultures are displayed throughout our government, education, art, architect, cultural activities, and many other things. I assert the most influential ideas the Greeks and Romans had are displayed in our government, art, and architecture. Their ideas have inspired over 25 centuries, growing and changing over time, and still remain in our modern civilization.
