Corporations need to implement a Business Code of Ethics and review with all employees. Also, an excellent tool for learning is case studies and role-playing. The key in this learning is to make the Code accessible and position it as a helpful tool for all employees.
Profession Code of Ethics Comparison As a social work student, we are provided with the foundational education necessary to succeed in our profession. The National Association of Social Work (NASW) Code of Ethics is the most significant publication because it “is intended to serve as a guide to the everyday professional conduct of social workers” (NASW Code of Ethics, 2017). For this assignment, we are charged with exploring other professional codes of ethics to gain a better understanding of how they may be similar or differ from one another. Therefore, I choose to explore the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics with the intention of conducting a comparison analysis of both documents.

Wells Fargo unethical practices demonstrates unethical behavior, under deontological ethical theories as its employees duty to operate in an honest and fair fashion , in providing services to the public. Wells Fargo codes of conduct does not permit sales practices of these sort, therefore the employees who participated in these practices made unethical decisions. Unfortunately there was a wrong-doing on a massive scale. The acts of unethical behavior were conducted by both the employees and management.
Choices of Conduct The third precept in the PTD theory explores choices of conduct or the character development of students insofar as the choices they make in their everyday use of technology. Bers’ discusses the developments students engage in as they advance their own sense of character and while the district’s technology plan offers many opportunities for content creation, creativity, communication, and collaboration, the plan lacks the opportunity for students to develop a moral compass or ethical choices. Throughout the youths’ development, opportunities testing character, moral purpose, and a sense of responsibility are often issues faced not only in the physical world but in the use of technology. Character and choices of conduct can often be overlooked or kept separate from a technology plan as in the UCPSD’s twenty-five-page multi-year technology plan.

Comparing and Contrasting Codes of Ethics The Manual of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences has a set Code of Ethics and Conduct in place to promote professionalism and proper personal conduct for all of its members and partners (American Academy, n.d.). It states that all members and affiliates of the Academy are prohibited from practicing any behaviors, whether professional or personal, that is not in the greater interests of the Academy. Some examples of the Academy’s objectives include: advocating forensic science research and education, refining the practices, and helping to promote the standards and further the ideals of these sciences (n.d.). This Code of Conduct also prohibits several other behaviors (American Academy, n.d.).
