Many individuals blame school shootings- like the Columbine shooting- and multiple other acts of violence that happen in the world, to what is presented in the media. They say that the media altered the minds of the perpetrators into believing what was being presented in the video games was adequate behavior in real life. It is also aforementioned that what can be read in a book may change a person’s beliefs. This last example is only fit to be true in religious books like the Bible. Both of these are reasons A Wrinkle in Time is being challenged.
Firstly it is said that media can alter one's mind, and saying this is true, many people say this book is violent and dark by having representations of Satan and other atrocious abominations. People in society say that books with any violent material like, but realistically speaking, there is no one way to decide what the standard is for violence. One author opposing book banning stated:

This is one of the most debated topics about A Wrinkle in Time as it is challenged by many people. Some say the book is too Christian, and all the way to the other end, some say the novel is satanic and sadistic. The Christian idea comes from the mention of Jesus in the book, but it also states the name of many other religious figures in the book: such as Buddha, Gandhi, and many other religious figures. The idea of the Satanism and Sadism comes from one of the antagonists in the story, the “Black Thing” that is spreading across the universe, another reason is because of the “IT” on the planet of Camazotz . Many people state that these characters encompass all ideals of evil and thing the desire to hurt others, and that many people disagree with the figures in the book. This idea could possibly come from the
