I very much enjoyed what has been occurring in Acts I and II of Romeo and Juliet. These two acts really emphasize what will happen in the rest of the story. To begin with , Act I starts of with the two guys of the Montague home who seem to be discussing how they are going to get their problems situated with the Capulet family. I don't feel that it was right to start the story off with this. However , when the two gentlemen are arguing , they do introduce some of the story's conflict like for example; the fact that the Montague and Capulet families are in a feud.

Thomas resulted to declaring his speech in Act I when he was in an argument with Humphrey and Margaret concerning his status as the devil and his ability to predict when Judgment day is. During the speech Tyson, Thomas, Margaret, Humphrey, Nicholas, Alizon, Richard, the Chaplain, and Jennet were listening, however they still had their doubts towards Thomas’s confession as the devil. This large audience was beneficial for Thomas because his speech covers a critical thematic issue in the play – that is the role of the soul which appears several times in the play and this theme affects Thomas because it represents his life or his choice to leave the world or not.

The scene could have went a different way with a different outcome, but instead there was an element of choice that led to Mercutio’s death. A key point in the chapter was when Tybalt insulted Romeo by saying, “thou art a villain” (II.i.63). When Shakespeare uses insults, people expect a retaliation attack or insult, but Romeo didn’t say anything. Tybalt knew what he said would trigger either Romeo or Mercutio and would ultimately cause a fight. What Tybalt said should’ve triggered Romeo to fight him, but instead he backed down which forced Mercutio to step up and defend Romeo.
on the Verona street, Bevnolio and Murcutio wait around for Romeo to meet them. Tybalt and Petruccio see them first, and start a quarrel. Tybalt makes it clear that he is looking for Romeo, whom he wants to punish for sneaking into the Capulets' masked party the previous day. When Romeo arrives, overjoyed with his recent marriage, he is deferential to Tybalt, insisting he harbors no hatred for the Capulet house. Tybalt is unsure how to deal with Romeo.

By far, the very best part of this whole book is that Juliet finally gets her happy ending. She falls in love with the only son of the enemy family, almost forced into an arranged marriage and kills herself rather than face a moment of the life her family has planned for her. In this version of their story, she doesn't end up with Romeo, she finds that after everything she has been through, she is happier with a modern teen boy named Ben, who reminds her of Romeo's cousin Benvolio. In the end, we are led to believe she dies, although it isn't clear, but she dies for Ben and with him so in the after life, she awakes like she would have in Verona, to her Benvolio waiting for her and to whisk her away to a happily ever after. Act II is the complication where the conflict between Lear and his daughters is revealed and the conspiracy unites Goneril, Regan and Edmund.
