Creation stories tell of how the world was created based on the who the story originates from. In my home state of Washington State, Makah Indians told the story of the Two-Men-Who-Changed-Things creation story. Chelan Indians told the story of a Great Chief above that created the Indians. Both have different cultural backgrounds and live in different places in Washington.

This fable is often compared to the children’s cartoon “Tom and Jerry” due to the use of violence or deceit to their benefit. Additionally, Buffalo would be the wise man because of his kind, wise, guiding personality. Buffalo, who was killed in the beginning of the fable, comes back not only to finish his enemies but to reclaim his herd. He takes a chance on Coyote and grants him and only to, again, be deceived. Not only that, he proceeds to be a profound philosopher and known for his sound
In an effort to explain this came up with creation myths. Unlike the Bible’s one creation story, the Choctaw people have different versions of their creation myth. The Choctaw creation stories are classified as myths because they are “imaginative stories that present events that took place at the beginning.” (Ryan, 2016).
We see many instances of Coyote’s mistakes throughout the book, creating parallels between Jesse and Coyote as characters. Jesse ties mythology back to his own culture, and connects that to his school work, particularly english class. This makes the differences in cultures even clearer. They begin learning about mythology which Wade notices that Jesse “had a good feel for it, because of all the myths he had” (112). Jesse proceeds to tell the class a story about Coyote, a beaver called Wishroosh and some huckleberries.
Expulsion. The pain and suffering that accompanies it. Nobody wants to be excluded, but what if it’s the difference between quenching your curiosity and remaining ignorant? In both the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and in the dystopian novella Anthem, by Ayn Rand, the protagonists are faced with this predicament. Their actions come with immense consequences which forever change not only their own life, but that of the human race.
Through the two stories, Coyote and the Buffalo by Christine Quintasket and Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards, we learn that Native Americans and Puritans believed that people were ultimately bad. In the beginning of Coyote and the Buffalo, Quintasket explains to the reader that “No buffalo ever lived in the Swah-netk’-qhu country. That was Coyote’s fault. If he had not been so foolish and greedy…”. In this myth, Native Americans teach an important lesson on how humans can be bad through coyotes actions.
Myths are a medium by which people explain the world around them to younger generations. These myths generally explain how the world was formed and came to be. However, the teachings of each myth can be varied based on where they originated. If the myth came from a polytheistic culture, the myth may be more focus on the nature and ecological lessons.

In the Iroquois myth it was only water until the animals made land for the woman who was pushed off the earth to live on.

In todays society there are numerous jobs that continue to stay vacant because there are not enough people who have the skills to perform well on the jobs that are vacant. This is a huge problem in our society and illustrates why there is a great need for work- based learning and industry engagement in K-12 education. My position on work based learning is that there needs to be a mandatory initiative that includes work- based learning to be included in K-12 curriculum. I also believe work-based learning includes three important pillars, career awareness, exploration and preparation. I believe career awareness is an important pillar because students need to know what careers are available for students to pursue in their future.
