Comparing Two Views On Advice To Youth

I chose to do two reading that I would like to enhance my point of view because it is not explained in the writing. “Advice to Youth” by Mark Twain and “What Should a billionaire Give – and What Should You?” by Peter Singer were two pieces of writing that I thought were very interesting because their points of views were intriguing. In the reading “Advice to Youth”, Twain gives pointers to youth. He talks about respecting elders, then he goes on saying: “Most parents think they know better than you do, and you can generally make more by humoring that superstition than you can by acting on your own better judgment.” Parents actually know better than children. They have lived through a lot more experiences than the youngsters so they know what they are telling you due to their experiences. In terms of “Advice to Youth”, in regard to the parenting advice, the child may know more in certain aspects due to a different generation of lifestyle. Currently, children are more exposed to different things through technology rather than earlier generations. Lying was another advice that Twain gave and people can go against me and state what if the person never finds out that you are lying? There is always that what if factor in every situation. There could be a possibility you lie and everything will turn out in favor for you. Lastly, people can disagree with my opinion on the book advice because people may actually enjoy the authors listed. People are entitled to their own opinions and if they like the authors and the genres then the books will be great for them. These are possible arguments that I could think of in regards to Twain's
