Topic: How does compassion for others influence your connection with other human beings outside of your family and friends? Discuss and explain in detail. Compassion Having compassion for people outside of my inner circle has influenced a great deal of my connections with those people. It has helped me to have a better bond with my clients at work, to be understandable to those less fortunate, and helped me become a neighbor. Compassion is defined as the sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. It takes a certain type of person to possess such a quality, and I can vouch that I am just that type of person. It has influenced the way I see strangers and the way interpret people's actions. I feel like we have all been through rough times in life, so I never look down upon those who are not doing their best. In my neighborhood, my compassionate nature has made me a great neighbor. I do not play loud music, I'm courteous about limited parking spaces, and I'm cordial with my neighbors. Who'd want a rude neighbor? or someone who could care less about anyone else around them's feelings? I pride myself in knowing what makes a good neighbor and modeling myself after that. I am understanding, friendly, and I do my best to be welcoming to my neighbors, because that is what I would want from a neighbor. To be able to recognize what it is that other people desire regardless if you agree with it or not is a form of compassion. I practice this form of compassion everyday and it has greatly affected my relationship with both my immediate and distant neighbors. Compassion is the key to humanity. I believe that statement with everything that i have inside of me. Being compassionate has opened doors, built bonds, and has been very awarding to me in my lifetime.
