I believe that the survey presented in the Unit 2 reading assignment revealed several blind spots concerning my individual academic skills. I was startled to discover some of my individual weaknesses revealed in the survey. The survey was insightful and enlightening, as I realized that I have previously ignored some critical areas addressed. I realize that focusing on my weaknesses can compound the difficulty of achieving academic success (Bethel University, 2014). Developing my weaknesses and converting them to strengths will significantly improve the likelihood of my academic and professional success.
1. My significant contribution that I have made to Mount St. Ursula cannot be seen or touched, but, felt in the hearts of my wonderful teachers and classmates. My strong positivity has filled the environment of my school. I’ve often been told that I make optimistic impacts on many people’s lives. Although my high school career wasn’t the greatest, I soon learned it is important to be the best you can in everything you do. As I am quickly approaching the end of my senior, I am looking back at how far I have come since freshman year and everything that Henley High School has helped me accomplish in my life. In preparation for the life that every senior must experience after school, the senior capstone project was put in place to help seniors find out what they would suit them as career and give them some of the necessary tools in achieving that. Part of the capstone was earning service hours at a non profit organization, that can go on a resume. With serving came a facilitator, who guides one’s service, and also the challenges and success of the service itself. The Smarter Measure Guide assignment has shown that I am above the national average in most of the categories for example technical knowledge and overall technical competency. In the learning style section I was categorized as a physical learner; this means that I like to be actively involved by using my hands, body, and sense of touch.
