Video games have evolved greatly since the pong days. People, including myself, view video games as a form of art. From the way the graphics are made to the beautifully painted environment. The music often performed by an orchestra to the storytelling. Games are truly wonderful things. The gaming industry has already surpassed the movie and music industry. Sadly, with great things comes hate. Video games are, unfortunately, the subject of great debate and controversy. Things being said go from video games making people violent to making them lazy.The news bashes the industry with every incident that happens in the real world. It seems like you cannot enter a room nowadays without hearing the phrase “Video games make people violent”. This remark is often repeated by people due to the news. It is one person’s opinion being echoed throughout the community and it needs to cease. We hear this because there are more violent mainstream video games than you can shake a stick at. Depending on what your definition of lazy is, that controversy can be either true or false. If you contemplate playing a video game for a few hours being unproductive then okay it can make people slouches. Now who is to say they do not do that once in a while and the rest of the time they are active people? They would not be considered lazy. The same can be said of watching T.V or a movie. Since you are not doing anything at the moment you are being lazy. A significant difference, however, is that with video games you are actively using your brain. Examples include trying to solve problems on the fly, improving your reflexes and decision making skills.
