When parents first start realizing that their firstborn son is about to head to college, the feeling brings at least two concerns to their mind. First, they are saddened that their little boy is all grown up and about to head off into the world on his own. Second, the parents realize that they are about to attain an enormous hole in their bank account due to the fees that colleges require. The cost of college is so high that it is causing the student to work at least one part-time job while attending college which also helps to prepare them for whichever career the student has chosen.
For instance, Texas A&M, one of the more known colleges in Texas, the amount per year for attendance is $27,4521 for in-state residents. This cost covers tuition, room and board, and a few other expenses. It does not, however, cover the cost of classes which can get quite high due to Texas A&M being known for its Nursing program. One defense that they found is working part-time while in college. Students normally find a job on or around their selected college campus in order to save on gas or to keep their travel time between work and school to a minimum. Common jobs that students are able to find would be working as a cashier at the nearest McDonalds or Starbucks. While these types of jobs don’t pay very much, they do allow the student to gain a small source of income, which will turn into a huge relief eventually. Some students are even able to find a job working in the field that they are going into, such as a person wanting to go into nursing, that person might be able to find a volunteer or part-time position in a local hospital or nursing clinic, which will be a huge time-saver if the student decides to apply
