I got everything, as quickly as possible, and headed out my house, heading straight to the airport. I remember my mom saying on the car ride to be careful out there, because large events can be dangerous. She also told me to be aware of my surroundings. This statement stayed in the back of my mind, but in reality, I was arriving to Boston, clueless to what the dangers could have been. I cleared my mind, ready to run a marathon, and have fun with the competition.
I remember my mom picking me up from daycare early because it was right near an international airport. I remember my dad telling me he didn’t know when he was going to be home because his building was put under high security. I remember my grandmother desperately trying to contact my aunt, a flight attendant for US Airways. I remember her crying of relief on the phone when we finally contacted her and found that she was safe. And lastly, I remember the president of the United States, telling me, a terrified
Like anyone would be we were all nervous and we sat in a lounge for 6 hours, eventually it ended with my dad coming out of the room and explaining everything to us. Apparently TSA thought that we were carrying LSD and cocaine in our
We walked up to the “Scorpion”. I knew it was big, but I was with my mom and around family, so my anxiety immediately disappeared. I knew sooner or later that I was going to end up going on one, so I might as well just get it over with and it was
We had been on a flight for about three hours, and I was very scared, because that was my first time on a plane. We were sightseeing in Arizona for a day or two, taking pictures and shopping around the local stores, looking for cool stuff to bring home for our families. The day after, we were supposed to take a van for a 12 hour trip to Puerto Penasco, to the Penasco del Sol Hotel. That
As we slowly took steps over to our seats my fight or flight instinct kicked in. Should I have just run straight out the exit? The next thing I knew I was sitting in the heavily secured seat, getting strapped in and ready for lift-off. The seat hugged my body just as a boa constrictor does to its prey in the wild. The ride was now all set to go.
I was scared, got lost at points, but thankfully everyone around me was so kind hearted and
When I found out we were going zip-lining in Costa Rica I couldn 't believe it I have always wanted to go zip lining and now I can check that off my bucket list ! that morning we woke up got our friends, and got on a tour bus to take us there to the place to go zip-lining. When we got there we got our harnesses on, Climbed the ladder to go up in the high trees, then my stomach dropped when i got to the top. I knew that I needed to face my fears, even if it was I was frightened!
While we were going through security we saw moms and dads being annoyed by their screaming children. The children were screaming so very loudly it felt like our eardrums were going to burst. Then finally, after a long couple minutes we got through security, with no alarms going off and we were open to go into the magical Walt Disney World!
As my father dropped us off he gave us one last hug and wished us good luck. My mother was holding my hand as we reached customs, the TSA asking each person if we were bringing any seeds, liquids or lethal weapons on to the plane and everyone responding with “no”. As I stepped onto the
My mother, both of my sisters, and I all boarded on one airplane headed to Miami, where we would get on another flight to take us to Jamaica. My father had a different flight a few hours after ours that would take him straight to Jamaica. Both of the flights were pretty uneventful, and I slept for a large portion of the time. Eventually we were all together in the Jamaican airport, and were finally going to be able to relax.
My sister exchanged a few words with the man and after a few minutes he waved at her to go on. She began driving and almost instantly the heavy atmosphere vanished. The memory is still vivid today, sometimes replaying itself in my head. It wasn’t until my late sophomore year in high school that I found out why that event seemed bizarre and stressful. I later discovered that was a border patrol checkpoint.
Nervously, I sat in my seat and buckled up and tried to relaxed. My muscles were tense my body was shaking and the adrenaline rush of
Everyone was wondering what the Philippine would look like and how we were going to build houses. After the pilot made the announcement of taking off, the plane lifted off the runway. We arrived in Manila at night, everybody was so exhausted that we went to bed as soon as we reached our
After two or three hours in the airport the the plane was boarding and was ready to depart to America. I really hated the flight from Dubai to the U.S because of so many babies crying and I couldn’t get my sleep. Good thing I brought my headphones on the flight because I could hear the constant bawling of babies. When I woke up in the flight I had been served with a delicious meal of steaming rice
