Assignment 3 A counter public sphere call attention to groups identities. Meaning, a counter public sphere, unlike Habermas public sphere, are able to discuss issues with having their status and identity still intact. In a counter public sphere it is obliging to other people to understand peoples values and prospective. Though in counter public sphere such a black feminist, it is difficult to distinguish which counter public sphere they would fit under because being black and being female is a counter public sphere. Fraser Black feminist have several informal barriers, however one that stood out to me was women in a work place. An example would be from an article 10 Realities and Racial Micro Aggression, black females feel like they are often criticized that they get the work done early or on time, and often perceived as over achievers. The informal barriers is that no matter what this women do to not look like an achiever, she will be criticized for her work. This examples correlates well with Fraser and Dawson Deliberation on public sphere. Fraser discussed that the public sphere is supposed to be a universal class where everyone is included. Except, public sphere fail to include women in this group. In Fraser view, this black woman, should be allowed to participate at work without being criticized about her work ethic. She should be able to discuss and deliberate with her follow colleague, without her being a women a hinderance. Fraser believe we shouldn't bracket out our private sphere. Although, Dawson agree with Fraser, Dawson believe that the public sphere is systematic way of keeping the privileged, privileged, as well as informally disbar people of color from public sphere. Dawson would say that this black women, is being exclude from her workplace. That she won't be able to participate in the public sphere the work place has because of the color of skin. A counter public sphere is a tactic to not deliberate with other groups because they want to focus on the fact that their idea is right and is important. It shouldn't be in matter of right and wrong and importance but to have opinion discussions about your values with others and bring in different sphere would actually help you clarify and understand your values and create your values, as well as understanding others. That is why I feel like counterpublic doesn't work because just like groups are included from public sphere you are intentionally including people who exclude you and people who didn't exclude you. We have to realize that we are part of many public spheres and not just
