Furthermore, I yearn to be a part of Creighton University and continue my commitment to service. My experience volunteering on a medical service learning trip in Costa Rica has increased my understanding of different healthcare systems, various barriers, and the resulting disparities. Within rural communities throughout the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, I witnessed firsthand how scarce resources can be transformed into community necessities. In combination with my time spent volunteering, my leadership experience on the Down’s Hall Programming Board and as the vice president of National Residence Hall Honorary has strengthened my ability to promote service and recognition and foster a sense of community wherever I reside.
