Well I have learned a lot of lessons in this class and it was very hard for me to narrow it down. I did have to do some critical thinking when it came to deciding which lessons stood out to me and what they meant. The First lesson for me want to find out what type of thinker that I am. In this lesson, the reading gave us a deeper look at the different stages of thinking that there are. Six different stages were identified and this is where I learned that I am a beginning thinker. Meaning, that I become aware of my basic problem and take command of my thinking to improve it. This means a great deal to me because, it defines why I think the way I do. This week we read that there are many barriers that can keep you from being a critical thinker and that these barriers cloud your thinking in a big way. The first barrier that I identified with was self-concept because, I deal with a low self-esteem and insecurity. I also found that my depression and anxiety are key factors that affect my ability to think critically. This was probably the meaningful to me because, it really opened my eyes to as to how these barriers have affected my thinking. Well I fully intend to do just that. Whether it be in raising my children, finances, my marriage and work. I will apply the practice daily and do my best to be able to know when those barriers are affecting my thinking. One way to keep the depression and anxiety from influencing my thinking is to take my medication. Now when I am faced with an issue in the above-mentioned topics I will apply the five-step model.
