Cultural Differences In Vietnam And The United States

As a girl who grew up in Vietnam, while living in an American style environment, there were many cultural differences and barriers that I have encountered over the years. Even though I was born in Vietnam and raised in the United States later on in life, I learned to speak Vietnamese before English as my second language. I have learned that the two cultures have different varieties of good and amazing food options such as Pho, Vietnamese dessert, beef jerky, or clam chowder. From home cooked to fast food to fine dining restaurants, the two cultures have their way of making the customers satisfied with their amazing tastes, smells and even the looks of their beautiful dishes. In Houston or other cities, each mile has like at least two fast food restaurants in the marketplace due to people needed especially college students and unmarried person. According to a news that I read on Facebook said that McDonald's sales three-hundred-seventy-five hamburgers each five seconds so it means that it may released millions hamburger a day instead of chicken nuggets, fries. Besides McDonalds, there are Jack In The Box, Sonic, or Burger King restaurants is in the same local. Can you image how many hamburgers that they sale a day? It will be a very big number of millions. Furthermore, everyone knows that fast food is unhealthy but they do not want to change their habits to make good food at home. Or, they could not afford for eating at Steak House or Oliver Gardens. There are three main illnesses usually happen in people who eat much fast food. First, trans fat from meat makes people have high cholesterol link to heart disease. If they eat at Sonic, most of them will buy soda because they cannot say no to it's delicious. Second, sodium and Sugar from Coke or Sprite are caused diabetes mellitus and teeth decay. As I know that a meal of KFC with only one piece of chicken price can buy two Pho bowl. Thus, Instant Noodles is usually the 1st choice for us because it is cheap and easy to cook at home. The only that they need is boiled water to make it like a bowl of soup. If they have more money, they can add meat and vegetables for more nutrition. In Asia, or Vietnam, if you never try instant noodles, it means that you are not Asian or Vietnamese. For example, when I was a kid, I would like to have noodles every day because I was too bored of a bowl of rice. In our kitchen, there is always a little space for instance noodles with shrimp or beef flavors. However, in some new studies, they figure out Instant Noodles affects negative to our body. According to Saxena, an author for Food NDTV, “Instant noodles are low on nutritive content; high on fat, calories and sodium; and are laced with artificial colors, preservatives, additives and flavorings.” I can say that I know really well about how cruel instant noodles affected to our health. For this one, after having it, I usually get pimples on my face, and my uncle has heat mouth. My friend's doctor offered him to stop eating noodles because it bases his heartburn. Especially, researcher said that it could make people get fatigue. Nevertheless, I didn't know a person who gets fat due to it but I just realized that eating much instant noodles might cause
