What good would come from adolescents being out past 10 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends? I can assure you, not many benefits would result from such. Some may argue though, that some teens have jobs that could be later working hours than the curfew, or that some teens attend night classes. for example, If teens go to parties, where most of these substances can be found, and also have to be back in time of the curfew, it would detour some teens by them not wanting to risk that of getting a ticket for being on the roads late at night, or out past curfew at such places. Also, it would be even worse being caught driving while intoxicated and being out past curfew. Therefore, I believe it would help halt this trend, and hopefully put an end to it for good. In addition, new teens drivers are at a higher risk of wrecking, especially at night. Being that teens are fairly new to driving they do not have much experience, also some teens seem to think their "untouchable" and no harm may come from speeding or reckless driving. In fact, the human brain is not fully developed till the mid 20's, further proving teens do not have as much sense of maturity. Therefore, teens do not fully understand the multitude of reckless driving. Being so, teens would still speed and be as careless as ever or even worse at any given hour of the night. Teens would still have to drive at night though, being the curfew is 10 p.m. and midnight, but it would be better than teens ripping the roads at any hour
