Due to the increase of technology, it has become increasingly easy for students to bully each other on social media or by e-mail. This new method of communication allows students to make fun and belittle others anonymously, behind a computer screen. Cyberbullying has become increasingly prominent at local schools but despite the disruptions it may cause, schools should not be allowed to limit online speech. Cyberbullying does not affect the majority of people, it is not the most terrible offense and it happens oftentimes outside of school.
With the continuous development of new technology, there would be more new cases of bullying. In today’s generation, kids have access to computers or have datas and internet on their phones. With this freedom and the creation of their profiles, we have had instances on kids getting bullied virtually or through the use of social media. Do you agree?
As of 2010, 160,000 kids miss school every day because they fear that they will get bullied. There’s not only physical bullying but there is cyber bullying, and emotional bullying. Because of social media, cyber bullying has become a lot easier to humiliate people and call them out and point out their flaws. 2.7 million students are bullied every year, and fear of going to class.

Before cellphones and social media, bullying used to be pushing each other around on the playground. Since the evolution of the internet, cell phones, and social media, the amount of bullying has increased drastically. Kids are ganging up on others posting material on social media for everyone to see. It’s bad enough that people are being bullied, but bullying someone with a mental illness can cause them to commit suicide. Losing a life to bullying is incredibly tragic, and action needs to be taken to stop it.
