The U.S. Government has a budget of $3.8 trillion in 2012; that is an immense amount of money to be distributing across the country, so there are bound to be some mistakes in how they have distributed their money. People wonder what is absolute best way for them to distribute the money for the budget, even though there is no way in knowing that, everyone can give their opinion. The U.S. budget has three clusters that make up the entire budget, the U.S. Government should make adjustments in the way it is distributing money to the “Big Five”, “Middle Five”, and “The Little Five”. The budget needs to be allocated differently for there to be change in the United States. In the Big Five 22% of the money went into Medicare, Medicaid and Health, 20% went into Social Security, 19% into Defense, 15% into Safety Net Programs for Poor and Elderly, and 6% into Interest on National Debt (Document C). In defense we spent more than all the leading countries in the world combined, meaning we could probably cut back a lot on defense, and distribute that into education. In the Middle Five 1.5% of the money went into Homeland Security, 2.7% went into the Veterans Benefits and Services, 1.5% into Justice, 2.7% into Transportation, and lastly 1.8% into Education (Document D). Education is what runs the future of the this world, if people are not educated than we will not be able to function properly as a society, thus why education is so important and shouldn’t have less money allocated into it than Veterans Benefits and Services. “Veterans Benefits and Services has $130 billion and Education has %68 billion” (Document D). That’s almost double the amount of money distributed into it over education; money easily could be taken out of that and allocated into the future of this
