Many schools in Kansas have been under payed, and kids still attend those schools. These schools have many disadvantages and their learning abilities can be limited due to lack of technology and educators. Roughly forty percent of the schools don't get the financial support they need from the government and state funding according to the Department of Education. The schools are being under payed and tax proportions have been low so the money going to the schools is low as well. The future depends on these kids and when they are limited in education, they won't be the best version of themselves. schools should be funded more money so the kids have better learning technology and are able to do the extracurricular activities they want to do. Even though Governor Brownback wants to decrease the taxes and make everyone happy, it is causing a drought in the flow of money to these schools. The Republican Party wants to increase the taxes but Brownback boldly rejected this. The increase in taxes would have generated roughly one billion dollars and would have helped narrow the budget gap (Bosman). The increase of taxes can also cause a lot of trouble because not everyone wants to pay the high scaled taxes. Along with this, there is private schools in the state of Kansas that don't get any of the money from the state. The difference between public and private schools is that money is given different and the public schools follow a set curriculum while private schools can do what they want.
