1.1. Abuse
Abuse is a harmful act towards another person or thing. It can be physically or even mentally harmful towards that person. People often abuse to gain power and control, the treat others bad to make themselves feel better about themselves and their insecurities. There are many different types of abuse.

1.2 Dating Abuse Dating Abuse is when one member of a relationship acts violently towards the other. This is a sign of jealousy and the person’s desire for control in the relationship. This type of relationship is not healthy and can lead to dangerous situations.

Dating Abuse:
Emotional/ Psychological
According to Healthy Place Emotional abuse is "any act including confinement, isolation, verbal assault, humiliation, intimidation, infantilization, or any other treatment which may diminish the sense of identity, dignity, and self-worth." An example of this type of Abuse would be one member of a relationship telling the other they are worthless and wouldn’t be able to find love with anybody else. They use this type of abuse to control the victim.

Physical
Physical Abuse involves the one member (Abuser) literally harming the victim, using physical violence. This type of abuse can be easily recognised as the victims often have severe injuries and need medical treatment. They tend to have bruises all over their body.

Sexual
When the abuser forces the victim to have sexual intercourse with them, purely because they are in a relationship and it should be “a given”. They take advantage of their partner without even bothering to ask for consent. If they don’t force their partner, then the intimidate them to have sex with them by making them feel guilty. Could be classified as rape, Domestic Rape.
