The poster displays David Wechsler’s Intelligence Tests (1995) using as theme from the film ‘up’. There is a clear and recognisable theme to this poster making it more appealing to the reader, and aid with recall of information in the future. The poster provides adequate information without going into too much depth. However, the design of the poster makes it difficult to read in a logical, flowing manner. Wechsler developed tests in order to account for applying intelligence tests to adults as well as children. He later created the deviation IQ which is formulated from the actual score obtained by the participant, and the expected score for a person of that age. This improved the usefulness of comparisons in adult intelligence tests (Edwards, 1994). When Wechsler created his first test, it was based on Spearman, (2004) two-factor model. Spearman believed that the first factor of intelligence was specific abilities being required to perform well in certain tasks. The second factor was general intelligence, also known as ‘g’. Despite Wechsler and Spearman not sharing the same views on intelligence, they both believe intelligence covers a vast majority of abilities that correlate with one another, leading to form an overall measure of general intelligence.
