You’re ready to have children, but the question is how can you work and have children? There are many options you can choose from, but the most common and less expensive choice is daycare. Going to daycare is a nerve racking experience and it definitely benefits the children so it should be an option for everyone. This is not the case though. For some parents, it is very difficult to pay for a day care, but for others it is not. This is where the government should come in and help out those who can’t pay resulting in the parent’s being able to bring a steady income and provide children the care they need.

Obviously, parents that make more money will send their kids to a better day care, and those that don’t will send them to a mediocre day care or not take them at all. I feel like day care is crucial to the development of children, so there should be a scale that decides who has to pay what. This also is relevant in the age of children. According to Katie Bugbee, “The average cost of center-based day care for infants is about $10,468 per year, but prices can range from $6,605 to $20,209 a year. Similarly, the average cost of center-based day care for toddlers is about $9,733, but prices can range from $8,043 to $18,815 a year” (Bugbee). Katie is saying that the prices vary according to the day care, but the average weekly cost is about 200$ a week for one child. What if you have multiple children? Then comes the part of the scale. I believe that parents that’s income is $0-50,000 should be paid by the government because they aren’t only working a low wage job, but they also have other bills to pay for besides their child.
