Have you ever wondered what it would be like if animals that were widely known on Earth went extinct? For many years, animals have been in zoos protected from the wildlife outside. Many people when visiting zoos have not thought about the real answer to why animals have been held captive from their natural habitat. Let me tell you why animals should be kept in zoos because it helps endangered species risk extinction and can help people acknowledge the protection animals need.
To begin with, many animals enclosed in zoos benefit their species with the many resources they need to survive. Especially with endangered or close-to-extinction species, zoos have made it a reason to keep it as such. According to an article by James Steinberg in 2001, Alan Dixson claims that ‘“There wouldn’t be a baby panda if it weren’t for science”’ (Doc. A). Endangered species have been a big problem on Earth considering their safety. With the help of many zoos such as San Diego Zoo, decreasing the rate of their extinction is likely. Using its

This leads to my following reason, with the help from zoos, people are associating themselves to find possible solutions for this problem. An article made by Sarah Cunningham claims that ‘“Research shows that during these visits, people forge emotional connections to wildlife and learn to see themselves as part of conservation solutions”’ (Doc. B). Zoos are known as a resource to educate people to learn more about wildlife conservation. One of their objectives as an attraction is to inform people of what has been happening. Improving what we currently are trying to save such as extinction can comply with our community to help form a strong bond between themselves and animals. Have we stopped fighting for the loss of these animals? The answer is no. Continuing, humanity has gathered for many possible solutions to conserve what many find to be saving our
