All 3 articles talk about the reasons behind preserving animals in zoos,but they all show different evidence to support why they do this. The Stripes will survive because the reason is to help endangered tigers from going extinct. The Zoos Go Wild from No More Dodos shows that they do this to help the animals from exciton also. In Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment, they talk about how they take in Macaws from owners who can’t support them correctly.

In The Stripes Will Survive, the reason for helping animals in the zoo is extinction. From The Stripes Will Survive it says, “ Fewer than 5,000 tigers roam the wild. Only about 400 of those are Siberian tigers, which are the largest, lightest-colored, and longest-furred tigers. …show more content…

“Housing animals in spaces that were as close to the animals’ habitats as the designers could make them was an important step in the struggle to save endangered species.” and “Willie’s rainforest home is just one example of the far-reaching changes that have taken place in zoos in recent years. Zoos no longer feel their primary mission is simply to collect and display as many different species of animals from around the world as they possibly can. They no longer believe that the more unusual animals a zoo has, the better it is. Instead, zoos are changing into conservation parks that cooperate to help save animals threatened with extinction.“ This article mainly talks about how they changed the environment in their zoos to make it more fitting for those animals who have been rescued from endangered habitats and now homes animals who are close to extinction. The second quote mainly talks about how they have changed their focus to not be more diverse in species, but to help out species who are endangered. This also gives context towards the first quote. The first quote explains how Willie’s part of the zoo was one of the first to be revamped with the rainforest in mind. They also discuss how major Willie’s behavioral changes were when they finally moved him into this …show more content…

Both of these quotes from the articles show that they help Macaws in order to take a burden off of Macaw owners. In the first quote, it explains how hard Macaws are to take care of. Explaining how they can be very challenging at times to take care of. The second shows what they do, almost showing a cause and effect type of writing. They explain how some of the Macaws at their zoo come from situations like that and how they accommodate
