Simi Gupta Carrington 7B Writing 8 March 2023 How Native Americans Suffered DBQ To start off, the Spanish conquistadors such as Hernan Cortes and Francisco Pizzaro conquered the Aztec Empire, while the Europeans took over the Native Americans land. The Europeans tortured the Native Americans in many different ways such as bring sickness into their country, starving them to death by taking their food and eating it, and lastly human torture and abuse.
The Navajo and the Lakota live in completely different regions changing the available foods, geography and climate. This brings possibility for difference similarities and differences. With food being extremely important to any culture you can expect the same from these native tribes as well. With changes in traditions, climate, and geography the Lakota and Navajo tribes have enough differing them to change what foods they eat, preparation of said food, and beliefs surrounding food.

In the tribe apache and martins tribe has a lot of similarities and differences. Some similarities on dashena and martins are that they both are getting to an age to where they are going into adulthood. Both martin and deshena have to go through something to get to adulthood.

The northern Paiute speaked western Numic branch of the Shoshonean division of the uto-aztecan language family. The southern Paiute had the similar language of the northern Paiute. The southern spoke the similar southern Numic branch ;The southern & Northern are different by the southern being moral & peaceful. The northern were a little unkind (or brutal).The southern & northern are adapted to their source changing & there are deep philosophical & spiritual meaning.
Bedonkohe Apaches are a subdivision of Apaches found in modern day. The Bedonkohe name was given to themselves mean “In the front at the end” referring to the edge of the Apache territory. They spoke Chiricahua. Apache is an Athabaskan language of the American south west particular modern day Arizona, new Mexico and Texas.

The Native Americans of the Great Plains had relied upon and hunted buffalo for thousands of years. Without the arrival of the Caucasians—and with them the gun, the horse, and the market for bison products—it seems likely the Indians could have lived sustainably with the bison far into the future.

The Sioux are groups of Native American Indians and are tribe people in North America. They have three main languages those are Lakota, Dakota, Nakota. They lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and in Iowa. The ones that survived they live in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and Montana.
The Cheyenne had times when other tribes threatened their territory or they had a bad relationship with a tribe, which sometimes ended on battle - grounds. The most famous chiefs of the tribe were: Chief Roman Nose, Little Rock, Morning Star, Dull Knife, and Black Kettle. The Cheyenne’s most steadfast enemy was the Pawnee tribe, to protect their claim of land the Pawnee allied with eastern tribes. The Cheyenne gained strength through alliances, but by the end of the 18th century, the Cheyenne had already started to fight with other northern plain tribes. The Cheyenne fought with arrows, jaw - bone clubs, hatchet axe, knifes, stone ball clubs, and when on horseback, war shields.
The Hoh Native American tribe has lived amongst the Nature Bridge camp for many centuries and has many interesting topics to study such as the reservation, people, food, clothing, recreation, religion, myths and legends, the age of the tribe, and the important events on the history of the tribe. Because of these, the tribe is rich in history and culture, making it a great essay topic to study for my Nature Bridge trip of 2017. The Hoh generally live in the northwestern part of Washington, and they have an entire reservation where a majority of their population lives. This reservation is on the Pacific coast, on the mouth of the Hoh River.
Life on an Indian Reservation This episode of 30 days takes place in Navajo Nation. The Navajo reservation is located in the states of Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico. The Navajo's have a very close connection with Mother Earth.
The removal of the native Americans from their land, and the boarding school movement, which is when many native children were separated from their families, stripped from their language and often got abused by white. They lost their home, family because most American thought that Indian should integrated to their white culture, so it 'll be easier for them. The lost of family play a big impact in Native American life from generation to generation. Native America are still one of the United States most economically disadvantaged population. Not only that, most of their land are owned and managed by the federal government.
The Apache Indians originally came from the Alaskan region, and part of the American Southwest. Over time the tribes travelled to the United States and currently reside in Oklahoma and Texas and on reservations in Arizona and New Mexico. The Apaches were known as Nomads because they travelled around, and never settled on reservations for a long period of time. Since the nomads never settled anywhere for long, they were not accustomed to the different types of agriculture on the land which caused other tribes to overtake the land and cause the nomads to travel elsewhere.
In discussing the subject on Wikipedia and defamation I believe it is important to highlight how little I knew about this subject before this weeks lesson. In hindsight, I believe it is important to know how sources can be manipulated, especially Wikipedia, which in turn could lead to question in credibility. As someone who relies on Wikipedia for a base in any research I do, in watching the video from Tech News Today, I was dumbfounded to how simple edits can lead to "trans phobic" ideals and misconceptions. In having to ban the House "twice", the idea that Wikipedia is still at threat from "nasty" edits such as those are deeply disturbing; Granted, what makes Wikipedia thrive is public contribution but also trust that it will uphold a unbiased representation of worldly views. In reflection, the idea of Wikipedia is completely unbiased is something I know I need to separate from, as completely trusting a public source that is
