The Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, were all created to insure the safety and the personal rights of each American citizen. The United States was a country that was built on immigration. The United States has always welcomed citizens from neighboring countries to come and find better opportunities and freedoms here in America. Recently, President Trump, has been straying away from these very core ideals that made America what it is today. He has proposed a ban on all Muslims-(American) and other foreign immigrants from entering the United States. This ban also goes against the Declaration of Independance. Within the first few lines, it is written that all men are created equal to one another and that these rights are given without a thought and cannot be taken away no matter what. Donald Trump is trying to bypass the constitution, and is clumping all muslims under the umbrella of terrorist, and they are not all like that. This generalization is dehumanizing. Putting certain races under a general umbrella gives other people the right to only look at them a certain way, justifies their racist, sexist, and closed off thoughts. I can relate to what muslims feel like because since I am black, people automatically assume that I am dumb or that I am loud and ghetto, which is definitely not who I am at all. Fast-forward to the present day, and somehow these core beliefs are being brought into question for everyone who is not white, but especially to Muslims-(American) and other immigrants. President Trump has started a war on immigration because he truly believes that keeping all muslims and immigrants out is going to stop terrorist attacks, this is not true. Terrorist attacks can be committed by any race, religion or sex and is not just limited to Islam and Muslims. As soon as we can get American to open their eyes to the fact that singling out one race or religion is not going to solve the terrorist attacks that happen, the sooner we will be able to come together as a nation. All race and religion should be treated equally and should not be singled out because one group of bad muslims or islamics happened to commit a terrorist attack. As a nation we need to revisit why our founding fathers created the Constitution in the first place and start following by it instead of taking out the parts that only pertain to us as
