Have you ever wonder why you are feeling stress? Everyone feels stress every day whether it's good stress (eustress) or bad stress. Psychologist Hans Selye said “to be totally without stress is to be dead” that is because stress is the pressure placed on an organisms to adjust or adapt.There are several reasons to why I feel stress. Firstly, some of my friends always choose the most unusual time to call or text me whether it is on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram or SMS. It seems like sometimes they forget that we are in college and have a vast amount of work to do. It gets frustrating with some of my friends when they always want to hang out or go to a party especially when they know my study schedule. Finally, college is the place where I endure the most stress. Academic stress is the major reason I feel stressed. Most of it is due to the fact that I am taking five classes and three out of the five classes require me to do many readings. For example, in my history class, I have to do study guides so it can help me when I have a test. The study guides usually require me to define about seventy-nine definitions, read eighteen articles and write two paragraph about each, doing over one hundred multiple choice questions and read three chapters from the history textbook. Doing the study guides are no problem but when I have to do work from other classes it becomes difficult because everything starts to look like a mountain. I get worn out because I lack sleep and this is not good for my health. Also, it becomes frustrating when you professor talking about things that do not related to the subject that he/she is teaching. This also causes the professor to speed through the content and that cause me not to understand the information that being thought.
