Bullying What is bullying? The unethical harassment of one individual by another which results to psychological, social or mental issues of the primary person. Bullying can also be perceived as an aggressive behavior exerted on an individual with the intention to hurt him.The act happen when a person, in position of power, deliberately attack or intimidate someone in a lower position. In the early ages, most children are exposed to the acts of bullying, and this happens mostly in schools, universities, residential schools, etc. The worst part is, some of the people who get bullied don’t overcome the fear and because of that, the fear starts to take effect on their daily lives like, health, decrease in the academic studies, depression and …show more content…

In 1990’s, 12 of the 15 school shooters had a history of being bullied (http://www.stopbullying.gov/at-risk/effects/). Bullying is threatening to most of the school children, but there are methods on preventing bullying to take place.

There are 4 types of bullying: Physical, verbal, social & emotional, and cyber. Physical bullying is the physical abuse of an individual. This can be kicking, beating, pushing, or damaging property. Stronger people tend to act superior on weaker people by showing their strength. It’s tremendously important for everyone in the community to work together to start a campaign against bullying. There are plenty of things that the school staff should apply in order to stomp out bullying and make the school safer.Parents and youth can be engaged about this issue. The staff community in schools can establish a school committee for the safety of children to police and prevent any kind of bullying’s act. Start up an awareness campaign at school to teach children the consequences of bullying and to stand up against any acts of this genre. The school committee should create rules and policies or code of conduct in the school and a bullying report system. The committee should teach the culture of tolerance, respect and acceptance to children by creating for example some parents and youth meetings, websites talking about the issue(stopbullying.gov/prevention/at-school/). Children should be encouraged to participate in cyber bullying on bullying prevention campaign in the purpose to be inspire to stand up against it no matter what. In that way, the school committee will be able to create a climate where bullying will definitely not be
