As people tend to be harsher when told to evaluate themselves, they can be wrong about how happy they are therefore is this really plausible? There will be no sense of appreciation if every feeling is positive all the time. Pain and suffering is never the aim to strive to feel however it is seen as the way out when one does experience pain and sadness. When one is happy they way out is usually followed by a sad event crushing the possibility that happiness makes you feel, suggesting that happiness is temporary.
