A leader is someone who stands out from the ordinary. A leader is someone who takes the interest of others and pushes them and motivates them to become a better person. We all have a leader that we look up to, and mine just happens to be my very own father. Growing up my father always said, “When you are a leader you don’t look down on the people below you, instead you get on their level and help them, put just as much work in as them, and that’s a leader.” My father started up his own company from dirt, and he even had people buying his RV’s in Europe and across the world.
Leadership shows one can rise to the occasion and influence people in a positive way. Everybody can lead, whether it be in an official leadership position or by leading
To me, leadership mean being responsible and someone who can manage time really well. A leader can walk their followers to the right path of success. Someone who is in control because of their personality of trustworthiness and always deliberative from the world which is unpredictable. I currently exhibit leadership while working on any project for my college or high school classes. I take the role of a leader and always work diligently enough to get good compliments from peers and instructors.
Power and leadership are two terms often connected but not totally the same. While some leaders have power, not all powerful people are great leaders. Leadership is having the power to influence people to follow you, so essentially anyone who has influence can be considered a leader. But what happens when the person in charge uses their influence in all the wrong ways? We see in The Crucible how certain people in positions of power use it negatively and how, in direct opposition, Invictus shows Nelson Mendela using his commanding position positively.
Lisa Cash Hanson said, "Leadership is the ability to guide others without force into a direction or decision that leaves them still feeling empowered and accomplished. " Hanson continues to remind me of the selfless nature that great leaders continue to practice. To me, leadership is not a title or destination. Leadership isn't about remembrance or fame, it's about the impact, inspiration, and the influence you have on others.
A leader is someone you can look up to with admiration. A proper leader does not mislead the people that stand with them. They are open, honest, and responsible. They don’t hide their failures. They own up to their mistakes because that’s what leaders do.
Leadership defined is a person who takes initiative to aid others during their every day activities. They makes sacrifices of their time and personal interests for others. I believe I fit this description because I take time out of my day to help the people around me who need it. I help my sister with her English homework. I also help classmates with their English work.
The most important trait that a leader can have is the ability to stand for their people. To care about their community,religion,race or nation in a very helpful manner. Leaders can aquire this trait by creating better opportunities for the people around them,Like more jobs or increased pay. Also a big important thing that comes as being a leader is being responsible & having a solution to whatever problem comes in their way. There have been many great leaders that have carried this characteristic and all of those leaders have changed the world in so many ways,The way they stood up for their beliefs or have fought for this country they have shown what it means to be a "Leader".
These definitions of leadership are somewhat elusive. Warren Bennis writes on “Becoming a Leader” that “leadership is like beauty: it’s hard to define, but you know it when you see it"; and that “The ingredients of leadership cannot be taught.
What makes a leader? I believe a leader to be intelligent ,tough, and has the determination to achieve a goal. Having certain skills will have an impact on you being a trustable leader. Being selfless and caring are also characteristics. Malcolm X his birth name Malcolm Little is a fine a example of a leader and has most of these leadership qualities.
There are many different views and perceptions on leadership and what it exactly means. This is because there are many different types of leaders and many different views on them. But the basic meaning of leadership is an individual who can select the right group of followers and influence them through their distinct gifts, abilities, skills and knowledge. A leader focuses on the follower and puts out a roadmap to the overall mission and vision; hereby the follower is influenced to willingly and enthusiastically in achieving the mission and vision. The leader achieves this influence by humbly delivering a visionary perception of the future in clear terms that resonates with the follower in terms of their believes and values.
Leadership is can mean different things to different people. To me, leadership is more than having a title and subordinates. Leadership is having the courage to make the right choices, engage others in a vision, and empower your subordinates with a shared purpose and to achieve positive impacts. Leadership can also be relational which means it takes teamwork, requires you to be able to work with others in various backgrounds and that may have difference perspectives. Leadership also requires continuous learning, discerned decision making, and savvy communication skills.
One of the most important characteristics of a good leader is that they must be actually prepared to lead under any circumstance. This sounds like something that should go without saying, but it is surprising just how many people who are in a leadership role are not prepared to take an active role in leading their team. It is a process of social influence or we can say ability to influence others in order to accomplish a common task or achieving common objective. Leadership is a display of power and ability to control others, force superiority.
Introduction Leadership is the art of empowering people around you to achieve a goal. As a leader I want to help others become leaders themselves. I firmly believe that by leading based on my values this will be accomplished. I have had many leadership influences throughout my career. Some of them showed me the way I wanted to someday lead and others showed me exactly how not to.
