Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very inspirational man who overcame his fear to help many others stand up against their own. During this time there were laws that were there to make every man equal black or white, but it ended up dividing the black from the whites completely, which escalated to many blacks being imprisoned, and discriminated against. So this man risked it all to start a non-violent act of peace and equality for everyone. Two of his most famous acts helped tremendously, “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and “I Have a Dream” When Dr. King wrote the “Letter from Birmingham Jail” he was jailed and was trying to get a word out to the other blacks of birmingham trying to get them to protest non-violently. MLK also was a minister and Noble Prize winner; he was also a leader in The National Association of Colored People (NAACP). Many African Americans opened up to what he had to say and followed his strategies of a nonviolent act in the Civil Rights Movement. MLK was one of the most important black leaders in his era where not only did he touch the hearts of many blacks but also grew to have many enemies with whites and other leaders who didn't agree in his nonviolent strategies and beliefs.

One of which was important, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was one of the few who actually, and quite literally, dedicated/gave his whole life to it. Dr. King did everything he could to spread the word and demonstrate how unfair the current laws were at the time against all African Americans in the US.

He is viewed as one of the greatest American Civil Rights leaders of the 1950s and 1960s. His famous speeches raised lots of awareness to eliminate racism. Hence, he has impacted the history of the United States greatly. One of the most important achievements in the Civil Rights movement was the Civil Rights Act that was passed in 1964.
