Love is a means of engaging with the world. When this love is ripped from us, we fall to despair and grief. Through despair and grief, moreover, we can have a means to define true happiness. We cannot fully understand the light without a taste of darkness. We all need a place where we can let down our guard and fall apart because of love.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” (Martin Luther King Jr). Love is the invisible force that wakes you up in the morning and puts you back to sleep, hoping to relive the moment again, or in a simpler sense, it might be random acts of kindness among people that makes up happy, selfless communities. Or it might be a deadly trap for the weak when its powers are abused, but whatever the case, love is important for everyday customs and habits.

Love is a complicated concept in this world that people frequently experience in their lifetime. In her essay, “Love’s Vocabulary,” Diane Ackerman explores the beautiful idea of love and describes love in many creative ways with insightful words. Out of all the things she compares love to, her most excellent comparison is with an “intoxicant,” a substance that has the power to cause people to lose control of their behavior. This comparison expresses many truths about love because, like an intoxicant, love is an influential force that is comprised of numerous elements and comes in many different types. Ackerman’s choice of comparing love to a word with such negative connotation is wise, for it implies that love can be so strong to the extent

Scott Fitzgerald, Jay Gatsby, Tom and Daisy Buchanan are caught in a love triangle, each showing their love differently. Gatsby sees love as pursuing memories and past feelings with Daisy. Daisy Buchanan links love with security, status, and wealth.
Love means something very similar today as it did in 1850 when “How do I Love Thee?” was written. It can mean a marriage, parent’s love toward their children, or love between siblings. It is still the concept of an intense feeling of attraction or even just being there for someone through thick and
Basically, love is what we do the most and if it is taken away, we as a world would die. This connects to my life because there is “young love” and it feels useless when growing up. Morrie tells
Deep, intense, and long-lasting individuals use love to express their true emotions. Love is the passionate affection and desire felt by lovers for each other. While love can be so powerful, it is also demanding. Love is unique, love is special. Democracy was often viewed by many who saw it as akin to anarchy and mob rule even as late as the nineteenth century. It was only until the revolutions which rose around the eighteenth century that democracy began to be seen as a serious force, which would eventually shape political discourse on a large, international scale. The following revolutions and rebellions were influenced greatly by these events in history. Even with the cruelty and its ultimate failure, it could be argued that the goals and events of the French Revolution is still relevant in modern society and has a large influence in future democracy with their goal of overthrowing government for equality and showcasing the dangers of mob rule.
.S. Lewis discusses the differences between like and love in the second chapter of his book, The Four Loves. Many times when we say that we love something, we are expressing our affection love. An example of affection love would be saying that we love the movie “The Greatest Showman.”
