There are many words in the English language that can hold much meaning. Dedication holds much meaning but, how one describes dedication can vary significantly. To me, dedication is making a conscious effort to give a particular thing every ounce of energy that you have from the start of each day to the end. Dedication is devotion, commitment and perseverance. A few examples of dedication that I will use to help define dedication is my dedication to my daughter, the dedication needed to be successful in school, and the dedication my Father gives his Church. The act of being dedicated to your child is crucial in being a good parent. This form of dedication is constan. From the time I wake up every morning to the time I go to bed each night I am trying to be a better parent to my daughter. Dedication is never giving up the act of trying to be better despite the many times you fail. Going back to school with a six month old is the hardest thing I have ever done. More days than not, I tell myself it would be much easier to quit. I have to be even more dedicated to my school work than other students because I have a child, a fiancé, and a home to manage. Every day I am faced with the challenge of finding time to study. There have been many times where I have sang my notes from class while rocking my daughter, Hannah to get her to sleep. I do this because I am dedicated to making good grades and finishing school to better my life and the lives of my family. Dedication is doing what is best and maybe even harder if that means you get to your goal. Dedication is normally not the easy route but, the hard one; the one that makes you second guess why you even started, but deep inside you know that this is the only one for you. This is when you know you are truly
