Delta manages their employment and labor through through human resource strategies and policies that include compensation, benefits, training, performance planning, and labor relations programs. Labor management in the form of employee policies falls under Human Resources, and HR service delivery and other HR programs are directly involved in Delta’s engagement with its employees. Employee satisfaction rates are tracked as a key performance indicator with annual employee satisfaction surveys. In 2016, Delta achieved an 89 percent positive engagement rating from employees. The company recognized that its employee workforce is one of its biggest strengths, and aims to implement diversity and promote equal opportunity and affirmative action. Through this program, Delta employees are able to earn a monthly cash bonus based on achieving the specific operational goals of baggage handling, completion factor, and on-time arrivals. This program provides monetary incentives, with a payout of $25 for meeting one goal, $75 for two and $100 for all three, with a maximum payout of $1,200 per year for US based employees. Employees who exceed expectations are awarded with membership in Delta’s Chairman’s Club. The Chairman’s Club annually recognizes employees, excluding officers and directors, who consistently demonstrate the highest standards of service to customers, coworkers, and the communities that Delta serves. They are honored in an annual gala hosted by senior Delta leaders in Atlanta, and receive two travel tickets to any locations that Delta flies
