Nowadays, modern companies encourage workers to plan and execute their tasks collectively in order to allow them to mutually choose the best course of action for their work. This happens because companies are realizing that when workers perform their tasks together they can mutually assess their work preventing not only redundancy but also mistakes. Consequently, in order to fit to the modern companies practices towards work, I strongly believe that the individual must develop the skills necessary to effectively work in teams.
Firstly, when people work as a team they become more responsible for the success and for the failures of the project that they are engaged. This sense of responsibility is crucial to ensure that the worker will keep loyal to his company throughout his entire career there. Additionally, when workers feel that they are part of a team, they are encouraged to contribute with their best ideas in order to help the group to accomplish its tasks. Therefore, working in groups increases the loyalty of the worker towards to the group and to the company. This greater loyalty directly benefits the companies performance since the worker will feel more committed to contribute to the groups results.
