Comparative Essay The official rules of soccer were created in England. Where soccer was exactly originated is still unknown, but the earliest time we have seen soccer in any form was in Asia about three thousand years ago. All games or sports have rules, and so does soccer. In soccer, you have two teams playing against each other on a big field covered in grass. Both teams have eleven players each. Their mission is to score the ball into the other teams goal using their feet. The rules in soccer are not hard to follow. The most important rule states that you can not touch the ball with your hands and arms, only the goalkeeper can do that. Players are not allowed to attack each other in any form, which means no tripping, holding, shoving, or kicking other players on the field. Players who do not obey these rules will result in a penalty in the form of giving the other team a free shot. A referee is judges the game. The uniform soccer players use are made up of a shirt, shorts, socks, skin guards and soccer shoes. The colors of the uniforms the teams wear represent the team they play in, or country they play for. The goalkeeper has to wear a different color shirt, so that people know he’s the goalie. The soccer ball consists of rubber and leather. There are also different sizes of the soccer ball. Younger players usually have a smaller ball, whereas older players have a bigger one. Before a game starts, players need to warmup. They do so to reduce injuries. Warming up
