After researching information about Hill's pet nutrition and reviewing analysis of top 10 nutrition trends for 2018 the focus is on reviewing current products and their successes and determine the best way Hill could benefit from implementing a "detox" diet into their product line.
As of now, the top 2018 health trends include a detox diet. The original detox diet is intended to rid toxins out from the body in risky ways such as only consuming liquids "juicing", or fasting. Typically they are rather short diets instead of a long term eating plan. However, now more people are less interested in spending money to harm their bodies for little or no results and are instead more interested in an everyday detox diet. The target market for Hill differentiates due to the wide variety of care products whether it is sickness, overweight, or healthy. For a detox product, the target market would consist of women, ages 25-34, upper middle class, cares about family, animals, self, health, is willing to pay more for better quality options, single or family setting with small children, and owns a pet. Generally this target market does a large amount of online shopping and care about their self and others health and overall wellbeing . These types of people can appreciate Hill for their core values as a company when they are known for their reputation of maintaining and improving the lives of pets which shines through on their website, "We only conduct studies if we have compelling evidence that we can improve the health and welfare of companion animals. These studies often result in breakthrough nutritional findings, improving the lives of millions of dogs and cats". The methodology for primary research would include national online consumer polls of Unites States adult pet owners (18 years old and older) conduct an ongoing basis of packaged facts for measuring attitudes and purchase patterns with regard to pet products and service.
