Development through Childhood No one on the earth can say they missed the tumultuous time of growing up , going all the way from infancy to adulthood is quite the ride and many say it flies by too fast but during those years it can certainly seem to crawl and the reason why would be that even though they may be children growing up is still quite fraught with hardship. During the early years of being a baby things are pretty much simple but forward a few years and then things start to set in , having to learn to talk , use the bathroom , learning to deal with what we can and can't have as a child is very trying. The first portion of life as gestation in the womb is possibly one of the most important growth wise because of the complications that could arise later if something goes wrong during. The first things that begin to develop are things like the head and heart and through the slow course of gestation all the major organs end up growing , all of which being at least functional by the time of birth. One key thing to note is that right at the point of birth while all senses may be active they may not be very sensitive. A good example of this being something like scent or taste because these two have no way to be experienced while in the womb unlike something like hearing , a baby can't taste the amniotic fluid but they can hear the sounds of their parents talking to them. Moving on from birth we then have a fully grown child assuming it was not premature , assuming it was born normally development then heads on as it should. The biggest thing that changes in such times are simply how they recognize the world , they may not have much but they can still recognize their mother and father after a point. They obviously shoot up in things like height , it may not be a great deal of height compared to the size of an adult but growing around a foot from being a toddler to a young child is a great deal of growth. There are many other physical changes that take place during though , things like changes to their motor skills also takes place. They can begin to develop some fine motor skills like say the ability to skip , or playing games like football. Of course not all of this comes simply from growing , a great deal just comes from practicing said skills during this
