There are many times when people think about joining the military, and they can as long as they are not diabetic. At any age hearing that you are unable to do something because of a disease is difficult to cope with. It gets worse, if you are a type one diabetic who uses insulin and or any other medicines on the daily bases cannot join the forces, but people with diabetes who don't take medication and still manage their disease by watching their diet have a better chance of obtaining a medical waiver according to “(Forest Time)”. Diabetics should be allowed to serve in the military because they are capable of passing the military basic training and they know how to care for themselves. At the time of Selective services, men who had “disabilities,” still had to register, if they could reasonably leave their homes and move about independently. Diabetics actually workout more because it keeps their sugars regulated and keeps them health which will lead to a longer life. Swimming is also a big thing needed to pass. Swimming also burns many calories, and can help a diabetic control their weight, weight control is very important for diabetics. In anyway diabetics exercise they are preventing themselves from getting long term
